March 31st

Hey,

Well this week has been a busy week. We have been having trouble getting in contact with our investigators so we have unfortunately had to drop some of them. We had 8 investigators and now we are at 4 with a possibility of going down to 2 so hopefully we will be able to teach our investigators this week. I have not taught an investigator since being in the field. This week we went and visited with a lot of less active members and part member families. So something that I really have been trying to work on is actively listening to people because man is it easy to get distracted with every little thing when you talk with people so some times I miss those important things they are saying because I have been distracted. Well this week in district meeting we talked about listening and yesterday at church they even had a lesson on listening and man have I learned a lot about listening. After district meeting I started doing some of the things we learned there and it has helped me so much to listen more actively. Even sister minyard noticed how much my listening has improved. 

A lot of the people out here or conspiracy nuts they talk about how they government is trying to kill us. And they show us all of there guns when the world goes to heck they will be able to protect themselves. So I learned what purple paint on someones property means out here. If you see purple paint then that means kinda like the DO NOT TRESPASS sign but it also means that if you do then they will shot you. So don't go on someones property that has purple paint on there fence or trees or else. Oh ya and there are a ton of Confederate flags around here. They just have tons of craziness in there lives because of there conspiracy's. But something you notice is that the people who are less active or are not members they are the ones with the conspiracy's and that all the active members don't have that in there lives. As we center our lives on the gospel we have the guidance we need to have the peace and hope. But also because we follow the prophet we know he is where we will receive the warnings from the Heavenly Father. I hope you all have a great week and enjoy General Conference.
